International Graduate Student Loan
The International Student Graduate Loan can be used to finance any portion of the current academic year's educational expenses as well as to pay for balances from previous academic periods. You don't have to be currently enrolled to cover past due balances. A copy of a current invoice demonstrating an outstanding past due balance must be provided. Students can buy up to $130,000 as this is the aggregate maximum borrowing limit.
All non-US applicants require a US co-signer. Applying with a US co-signer is required to be approved.
The co-signer must meet all of the following criteria:
- Have a satisfactory credit, residence and employment history of at least two years.
- Have proof of current income (if self-employed have been in business for at least two years)
- Be a US Citizen or permanent resident and have resided in the USA for the previous two years.
If you are declined, reapply with a qualified co-signer to improve your chances of being approved.
Requirements to be fulfilled before applying for a loan:
- A graduate or professional student in a degree or certificate program
- Enrolled at least half-time as defined by your school
- Attending a The Education Resources Institute, Inc. ("TERI"), approved school (call 1-800-255-TERI to confirm eligibility of school)
- Proof of enrollment must be provided
Your co-signer must meet the following credit requirements :
- Have a satisfactory credit history of at least 21 months.
- Have an employment history of at least two years (if self-employed, have been in business for at least two years).
- Have proof of current income.
Be a US Citizen or permanent resident and have resided in the USA for the previous two years.
