After writing a short piece on your professional experience until now, can you paraphrase what skills/knowledge you think are needed for you to move to the next step in your chosen career? How does the MBA program help you in acquiring these skills/knowledge? Your answer must be tied to the short term career goal you have post MBA e.g. you want to be a Financial Analyst and therefore intend to specialize in Finance and Economics at CBS. Lay out clearly how the CBS program benefits you and for that research the school's offerings well e.g
Columbia's CaseWorks program grounded in research of top faculty, including Nobel laureate faculty, will give you real world decision making ability. Make sure that the benefits link up with your short term and long term career goals.

Follow the essay prompt - therefore DO NOT rewrite your resume/sop facts here ! The Adcom wants to know how you as a complete individual stand out among the applicants. This includes your interests, values and unique experiences. Don?t try to cram too many points - rather, take 3-4 points and develop them well in terms of bringing out your particular qualities e.g. you are an avid debater, because you enjoy analyzing an issue and you have good persuasive skills. You could also mention what values/goals are personally meaningful to you. |
